The Groves & Vineyards Annual Festival
The annual Groves and Vineyards Festival at Casalinga celebrates two iconic Mediterranean plants: the olive tree and the vine. There are always lots of new shoots.
Taking place on May 28th and 29th the Festival is not just a treat for connoisseurs of delicious food and fine wines, but also a great opportunity for some wonderful family time in the countryside surroundings of Casalinga before winter really starts.
Casalinga – the home of authentic Italian cuisine made from fresh, organic ingredients – is the perfect place to hold an event celebrating two iconic Mediterranean plants – the olive tree and the grape vine – and all the delicious products that can be made from them.
Sixteen wine estates will be represented at Groves and Vineyards, showcasing the very best South African and international wines. Artisanal food stalls give you the chance to stock up on cold-pressed olive oil and sweet treats, while a stroll through the organic produce market is sure to bring out the Italian chef in you.
Craft beer on tap and a selection of pop-up restaurants will cater to all tastes, as you wander around the Casalinga gardens and enjoy the last of the summer sunshine.
Live music will be provided by the legendary Kahn Morbee of The Parlotones, plus The Muses string quartet – the last word in glamour and gorgeousness.
A supervised play area will keep youngsters safely amused, giving parents the chance to enjoy some quality time indulging their Mediterranean lifestyle.
Groves and Vineyards begins each day at 11am and finish at 6pm. Tickets are priced at just R90 for under-12s and R165 general admission.
